How to check employer information in AI answers

Build a question set from real candidate information needs, then compare AI answers with current approved careers information. Separate factual policy errors from opinions and historical experiences. Preserve the answer conditions and source evidence, and use any synthetic personas as hypotheses that require real audience validation.

Which candidate decisions can you support?

Ask recruiting colleagues which factual questions candidates repeatedly need answered: work location, remote arrangements, hiring stages, role requirements, benefits eligibility and where to find current openings. Use aggregated or consented evidence and remove identifying details. Keep questions tied to a real role, market or policy scope.

Separate information accuracy from attractiveness as an employer. “How many interview stages are typical for this role?” has a checkable answer. “Is this a good place to work?” invites experiences and judgments that a company policy page cannot fully settle. Both may matter, but they need different evaluation criteria.

What is the authoritative reference?

Have HR or recruiting approve the current public facts and their effective dates. A remote policy may vary by role, contract and country. A benefit offered to one group may be unavailable to another. Keep those conditions adjacent to the description so a short summary remains accurate.

Build an evidence row for every material policy claim. Use the careers page, current job posting or other approved public source. If a fact is confidential or requires an individual discussion, provide the appropriate contact route. Avoid publishing internal salary files, employee records or private recruitment notes to make the answer more complete.

How should the answer panel be tested?

Save the exact question, language, region, interface, model label and date. Use role-specific questions alongside a small number of broad employer questions. Record factual statements, opinions, dates and available citations separately. An answer that cites a past review should be evaluated in its historical context.

If you use generated audience profiles to expand the questions, label them as constructed scenarios. Research on synthetic personas concerns generated profiles; these do not constitute observed employees or candidates. Validate a useful scenario against actual recruiting evidence before giving it priority.

What would a useful correction look like?

In an illustrative case, an answer says all roles are fully remote. The current public policy says the finance role requires two office days each week, while some engineering roles have different arrangements. The correction should make the role-specific policy easy to find. A blanket “we support flexibility” statement leaves the original ambiguity intact.

For claims about culture, management or workload, preserve the distinction between company assertions and individual experiences. A company may describe a changed management process or publish approved survey methodology and aggregate results. Those facts cannot establish that every employee has the same experience. Avoid efforts to identify or discredit anonymous reviewers.

How do you use the findings?

Prioritize errors that could waste a candidate's time or materially alter a decision. Assign changes to the owner of the relevant careers content and verify live pages. Give recruiters a short evidence brief they can use when someone asks about a conflicting answer.

Repeat the saved question set after meaningful policy or content changes, and on an agreed review schedule. Track factual accuracy, missing qualifications and citation context. Use separate candidate interviews or recruiting feedback to understand what people actually saw and how it affected them.

Common questions

Do discovered personas identify actual candidates?

No. Generated personas are hypotheses for questions and content planning.

Can a current policy disprove a former employee's review?

A policy can clarify current rules. It does not settle an individual's historical experience.
