Define useful AI visibility deliverables for clients

Agree deliverables that a client can inspect and act on: a scoped baseline, a claim-and-source ledger, a prioritized work plan and a clear review record. Separate product exports from your agency’s interpretation. Every finding should show the evidence, its limitations and the decision it supports.

What should the client receive first?

Define the handoff before running the audit. A useful baseline contains the brand, buyer questions, engines, interface, dates and scoring rules. It includes complete relevant answers and an explanation of what the numbers mean. The client should be able to distinguish a mention from a recommendation and a custom answer test from a product-wide Index measurement without relying on the presenter’s memory.

Agree which format each stakeholder needs. A director may want a concise decision page, an editor a prioritized correction list and a product owner a factual dispute ledger. These can share the same underlying evidence while presenting different tasks. Avoid promising that one generated export automatically supplies every annotation, worksheet or narrative the agency intends to deliver.

Which product outputs support those jobs?

Use Rankfor Index for its completed scan evidence, preserving the engine, language and date scope. For a specific claim, use the separately recorded Answer Trail and check the disclosed sources. Where a repeat experiment matters, document Dice Roller Test conditions and outcomes. In account-level Reports, inspect the selected project’s report and its PDF, Markdown or CSV export before handing it over.

A Brand DNA Map can help discuss the topic structure of analyzed pages, while Personas > Cluster Coverage can support a content review. Explain what those views model. A synthetic persona is a planning hypothesis, not an identified audience that saw the client’s message. The synthetic-persona research describes a constructed corpus and supports keeping this boundary explicit.

What makes the work plan concrete?

For each material issue, include the exact observation, verified source, business consequence, proposed action and owner. The action may update an existing policy, merge conflicting pages, create missing evidence or leave legitimate criticism unchanged. A content gap does not automatically become a new article. Link the decision to the actual buyer task so the client can judge whether the work is worth doing.

An illustrative deliverable for the fictional Northstar service might contain an outdated-plan finding, the current policy URL and a draft correction for the existing help page. Its acceptance condition is that the approved page states the correct eligibility and example. A later answer test is a separate evaluation task.

The deliverable should not promise that the correction will force all assistants to adopt the new wording.

How should the client accept the handoff?

Provide an acceptance sheet with the artifact, intended reader, owner, review status and location. Ask the client to confirm factual disputes and approve proposed work through the agreed process. Record unresolved evidence gaps and the next review date. If live screenshots are supplied, use authorized current records and appropriate redaction; do not create a fictional dashboard and present it as measured output.

The public Rankfor playbooks offer examples of individual workflows. Your agreement should still specify the actual deliverables and available export formats. Avoid unverified promises of white-label reports, unrestricted public links or automatic monthly delivery. A client-ready pack succeeds when someone can trace a finding, make the intended decision and assign the next action.
